It’s been more than 20 years now since I gave up my day job to immerse myself fully in my photography. Along the way some wonderful things happened. My son Peter blossomed into an amazing photographer in his own right and became European Professional Photographer in 2013. His first major book was all shot on film using the in camera techniques we still teach today at ExploreLight and now on Fine Art Nude workshops. These techniques remain true for all photography but have been updated to take into account digital cameras and tools. During this journey I got sidetracked many times and grew distant from my primary passion, The Nude in The Landscape.

By accident I got involved with Ujena Swimwear Illustrated and won their prestigious and hugely competitive shoot out to win the right to shoot their Swimwear Illustrated calendar. That led to an invitation from One Model Place to be their photographer on Shut Up and Model television show in USA and subsequently  led me to London where I shot celebrities like Kate Winslett and Sir Nigel Hawthrone.  All of these things were great but it was not my passion.

It excites me to launch this site to share my love of black and white and in particular the nude in the landscape.

All of my images are captured in-camera, single shot or multiple exposures. Post-processing using Joel Tjintjelaar’s ArtisanProX to effect light intensities and tones that allow me to manifest my vision. No image is materially altered by inclusions from other images or removal of material items and apart from selective sharpening and dust spot removal, the image is as seen in the camera.

My work has been published in various magazines including  Photo Art International and Outdoor Photographer. Numerous radio and TV appearances covering my work and that of my son Peter for our work in the landscape with www.explorelight.com

Feel free to drop me a line at edgordonphotography@gmail.com and if so inclined register your interest in learning more about fine art black and white and especially the nude in the landscape. It is my intention to run a series of workshops in late 2020 and 2021 so let me know if you would be interested to participate~ Ed

His vision is remarkable, to describe him in one phrase, I consider him the Edward Weston of our time.
